Because Bishops Waltham Infant School is a mainstream institution and we think that every lesson and day matters, our curriculum has been crafted to inspire and enthuse all students.

All students are unique individuals with unique learning requirements, and the school community, including the governing board, recognises this.
How are special educational needs and disabilities, or SEND, identified and evaluated at our school?
The SEND provision in the school is overseen by the Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator, or SENCO.
Prior to the start of school, parents are contacted through Early Years meetings, home visits, and school visits in order to identify children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
Prior to children joining us, we closely collaborate with our preschools or previous schools to identify any unique educational requirements they may have.
Under the guidance and supervision of the class teacher and SENCO, our highly qualified and experienced team of Learning Help Assistants (LSAs) provide the necessary support.
We strongly advise parents to speak with the class teacher, the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator), or the head teacher if they have any concerns about their child's progress or think they may have a special educational need.
