From the Belgrave School
Pat Jones established the Bristol Dyslexia Center more than 30 years ago to assist students in regular school. She received an OBE as recognition for her efforts. Belgrave School was established to cater to this additional requirement for those students who required full-time educational support. Prior to the school moving into the separate facility next door around eight years ago, both organisations were housed in the same facilities. The Bristol Dyslexia Centre still offers the school specialised evaluations and materials. The owner is still Pat Jones. Jonathan Skinner serves as the headteacher. Nessy Software, a sister company that provides educational resources for dyslexic kids, was also founded and assists students, families, and schools across the US and the UK. The school has gained more recognition as a specialist provider for SpLDs over the years, and three local authorities now pay a larger portion of its annual budget. These local authorities have strict evaluation, evaluation, and procurement requirements that the school must follow.

It’s the most awful school don’t go the school is too small and it can be strict. Don’t go to the school
The reviews below sound like they have come from the same person and it certainly is not our experience. The school cannot do enough to meet the needs of my son. He is positively encouraged to take movement breaks and the support he gets to help him access the academics is great. Dyslexia trained staff who understand neurodiversity and how to met the requirements of the ECHP support my son. They have even fought to...
I was so thankful that Belgrave could take my son on all those years ago. Since belgrave was taken over by Melrose and employed a new head teacher, I am looking for a school who values and listens to EHCPs. My son used to love going to school and now I have to drag him there everyday kicking and screaming. The head teacher intimidates the kids and belittles everyone, even the parents. The children pick...
Terrible school since Melrose took over - DO NOT GO! No intention of following EHCPs - take anyone and everyone to get the money but no skilled staff, no experienced staff, no changing the curriculum to suit individuals. Honestly I was shocked, we left!
DO NOT GO HERE! Terrible experience from the start. Lots of broken promises. Feels like the head is a very good salesperson, who has no intention of doing what's in an EHCP (especially if it's specified properly) but says what she thinks you want to hear, regardless of the truth! SENDCo has extremely poor people skills, and also lies and gatekeeps, but more blatantly than the head. Parents comms a complete shambles on top! Since...
