From the New Direction

At New Direction, we provide a small, nurturing environment where strong, trusting relationships form the foundation of everything we do. We are committed to supporting each young person’s personal growth, wellbeing, and independence through a holistic and inclusive approach to education.

Our unique setting, based around equine therapy and interaction with animals, offers powerful opportunities for emotional development, confidence-building, and learning beyond the classroom. By combining this with a broad and balanced curriculum, we empower our students to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

We believe in each student’s potential and work alongside them to build the skills, resilience, and self-belief needed to become confident, independent individuals ready to take on their next steps in life.

Cant wait for my child to start this school it looks fab! Animals on a farm what more could you ask for
Dont listen to bad reviews she is trolling she got kicked out of the school she is idiot send your kids to this ðŸ«
New Direction has been a terrible experience. They claim to support kids with additional needs, but there’s no real help just constant pressure to behave like every other student. My child was misunderstood, unsupported, and treated like a problem instead of a person. Staff lack proper training and empathy. There’s nothing “inclusive†about this place. It caused more harm than good. I wouldn’t recommend it to any parent looking for real support for their child.
I strongly advise against sending your child to this school, especially if they have behavioral issues. The SENCo lacks understanding of SEN or SEMH and the school fails to provide proper support. If a child shows any sign of behavioral difficulties, even if it's stated in their EHCP plan prior to joining, they will be excluded. The school seems more focused on financial gain than supporting the children in their care. They expect kids to...
Corrupt . Use the children to financially benefit their own pockets and give them no proper education. Release people’s personal data and use the children to do their yard work so they don’t have to employ as many horse care staff. It’s worrying that they change their policies on their website so that they can say they haven’t broken the law when it comes their wrong doings. Nothing about this school is truthful they literally...
I was forced to touch a horses fallous disgusting behaviour I’m Scarred for life and child labour 24/7
This school is awful, they say it’s therapeutic with the horses but they force children to clean the horses stables and poo pick the fields. phone calls over the tiniest things, they are a joke
children here are treated like robots there forced to be taking part in equine therapy they do nothing with the horses apart from cleaning poop and no actual equine therapy is done children who struggle with there mental health are just kicked out because they won’t deal with it expect to get a phone call if your child dose anything at all they call themselves a SEN school but they don’t like to deal with...
absolute shit hole and child labour , they just kick out anyone who struggles who they can not support
Absolutely terrible. Don’t understand children’s SEN needs at all. Children who a nuisance to them are excluded unlawfully. Don’t trust these to Maintain your child’s ehcp plan or meet the needs of it either. Bullying is out of control and even when children express that they’re being bullied it doesn’t get sorted. Communication is terrible and parents are ignored. Children are put to work on the yard moving heavy water buckets and mucking out stables...
Absolutely terrible, Supposed to be a specialist school yet they remove children that are seen as nuisance to them by excluding them unlawfully. Bullying is terrible and never acted on and staff are no More trained to work with special needs than your average person. Do not send your SEN children here. Communication is terrible and children are working on the yard moving heavy water buckets and mucking out the stables. Don’t trust these with...
Non mindful of physically disabled children. Prior restraint tactics involved physical harm done to students. Awful communication, children used to be forced to partake in equine therapy and would be pinned down to be put into gear.
