From the Ridgeway School
Within Bedford Borough, Ridgeway School occupies a distinctive site.
It is the only all-age school that educates students with physical disabilities, medical illnesses, and/or learning and communication challenges (ages 3 to 19).
The school is connected to the Child Development Center and is located on the same campus as Hastingsbury School (CDC).
A number of younger students utilise CDC amenities including the soft play area and sensory room, and some older students participate in inclusion opportunities and study for entry-level or GCSE certifications at Hastingsbury.
Hastingsbury students frequently come to the school for work experience or as part of their coursework, such as ICT in Years 12 and 13, where they study accessibility for individuals with impairments.
Children between the ages of 3 and 11 are educated in the primary division.
They are instructed by subject-specialist teachers, and they have access to specialised instructional resources in the fields of science, music, art, and design.
Close ties exist between the Post-16 programme and nearby universities like Barnfield, Shuttleworth, Hinwick, and Moulton.
Students complete suitable work experience placements and get ready for life after school.
When they graduate from Ridgeway, many students enrol in local and residential colleges.
