The three leaders of our last year 7 enrichment day were Mr. Coulson, Mr. Dunkley, and Miss Thomas. Before designing and building their own, the students, who were researching "Bridges Through Time," researched the historical significance and methodology of the existing bridges. The day started out with a historical investigation of old bridges and how they have changed over time, connecting to shifts in society and culture. The next job required students to conduct research, design, and build their own bridge, along with a pitch outlining its significance. Students were enthusiastically engaged throughout the day and loved learning a variety of investigative, creative, and practical skills as well as having the opportunity to improve their cooperation and leadership abilities. Overall, the day was successful since the finished building was shown all over the campus. Rebecca, Lola, and Aimee are in Group 1 We appreciated the chance to work together on a unique and creative challenge. Amelia, Cara, Mac, Charlie, and Oona make up Group 2. We found studying about bridges to be quite interesting. It was also intriguing to have the chance to employ modern equipment to aid in building our bridges. Ed, Greg, Hayden, Alex, and Lloyd make up Group 3. We all found the enrichment day to be thrilling and fascinating, and we all appreciated the chance to try something new.
