From the Carlton Hill Primary School
At Carlton Hill Primary School, we are incredibly proud of the staff's dedication to making sure the kids in our care get the best care possible. We acknowledge the individuality of every child. Our company's motto is "At Carlton Hill, fair implies that everyone receives what they need, not that everyone gets the same," in reference to this. To put it another way, we strive to address the needs of every kid. We encourage kids to be lifelong learners because we know that a child's education goes much beyond what they learn in primary school. We accomplish this through fostering a growth mindset and increasing awareness of mindsets (the collection of beliefs we hold about ourselves) (a belief that we can all learn more if we apply ourselves). All students (and adults!) can learn new things if they put in a lot of effort and have a "passion of learning." Similar to this, we believe that having a fixed mindset—the belief that our intelligence is either high or low and that there is no way to modify this—can be a barrier to learning.
