From the John Cabot Academy
It is crucial that our kids have a strong sense of self, a feeling of their place in the world, and self-agency in the twenty-first century. These characteristics will enable our students to graduate from John Cabot as contented, useful members of society. My vision for John Cabot consists of three components in order to make this happen. First, making sure it continues to be a joyful and secure space for our students. With really well-known systems for everything from uniform to behaviour, this will occur. Our kids will feel secure and empowered to learn about themselves, create a sense of self, and find their place in the 21st century with these clearly defined boundaries. Second, education I want an academy that promotes learning since it gives me professional energy. This will obviously lead to great academic results; but more than that, I want for each student, somewhere in the course of their school career, to have a lesson which sets off the lightbulbs in their mind, ignites a love of learning for a subject, and so changes the course of their lives. And finally, I want to inspire awe and wonder in our pupils. A trip, participating on a sports team, or giving a performance are some examples. These are the moments that you will always cherish, but they also help our pupils build their self-awareness, resilience, and confidence. I'm eager to see this idea for John Cabot Academy come to fruition. But I can't do it by myself. It depends on a solid, encouraging relationship between the home and the school. I very much look forward to working with Parents and Carers in a harmonious, mutually beneficial partnership to build this confidence and success.
