The King Edward's Foundation is in charge of overseeing the operations of the King Edward VI Sheldon Heath Academy, two independent schools, and five grammar schools in the City of Birmingham (all of which transitioned to academy status on August 1, 2011).
We are a forward-thinking, ambitious school that strongly supports Guy Claxton's Building Learning Power method. We have spoken at regional and local conferences to support the plan.
We have top-notch facilities that offer a modern learning atmosphere.
Girls in the upper sixth grade take three A2 subjects in addition to General Studies or the Extended Project, whereas girls in the lower sixth grade take four AS subjects plus AS Citizenship or Critical Thinking.
We attempt to provide everyone the chance to take on genuine duties within our community, and we urge each girl to engage in the lives and activities of the school.
It's crucial to have meaningful discussions with students and get their opinions on the curriculum.
In 2012, academic requirements are very high. 80.3% of all GCSE entries received an A*, while 41.1% received an A*/A. 53.3% of students who took the A Level passed with an A* or A, and 85.6% with an A* or B. For Key Stages 2 and 4, the school earned its best contextual value-added criteria in 2012. (1031).
We take pride in offering a wide range of lunchtime clubs that include educational, social, athletic, and creative activities run by both staff members and girls in the sixth form.
With choirs, orchestras, and a wide variety of instrumental lessons, we have a rich musical tradition.
We have various clubs administered by the Sixth Form, a school production, and partnerships with King Edward VI Aston School. Drama is also in vogue (boys).
All of the main sports have teams that represent us.
Both students and staff are expected to contribute to the school's success.
All year groups have activity days spread out over the course of the academic year to enhance the curriculum.
Our Form Tutors take a special interest in the development and wellbeing of the girls under their supervision, and we are known for our welcoming environment.
Serious issues are brought up with the year group's Pupil Achievement Leaders (PALS).
We support providing opportunities for leadership and individual initiative, as well as professional development through in-service training.

This school is the worst school I have seen. They give themselves the label of King Edward but they utterly are an embarrassment to say that. The level of disrespect from the staff is one thing and the level of teaching is another thing. I would say that the majority of staff members cannot teach their specialised subject, instead of helping the students learn, they scold them and ignore students they don’t like - furthermore...
In all honesty I didn't like this school from the start. Theres a recurrent segregation between internal and external students. They completely underestimate your capabilities - if you seek help they are unwelcoming. So you have no where to go unless you have private tutoring, some teachers specifically target students to make them embarrassed to set an example for other students. I don’t believe this institution is beneficial at all. There are specific teachers not...
I am currently at this school and so far i am enjoying it. It is a very interactive school with lots of activities. The students here are so nice and help you even if you are not in their year.Teachers are really kind and funny except for some. The trips here are amazing. You can go to many different residentials such as Whitemoor lakes,France,Germany and more.Overall, would definitely recommend this school. You can start so many friendships here.
