Theodore de Clare The Hertfordshire Local Education Authority oversees the 'OUTSTANDING' Church school Church of England Voluntary Controlled First School and Nursery. Our school, parents, and the community get together for a variety of events throughout the year. Our school hosts fundraising activities throughout the Autumn Term that are managed by the School Association. A special service is held in the church to commemorate Harvest Festival, and in the last weeks leading up to Christmas, students, staff, and parents gather for a carol service at Standon Church. Additionally, a Christmas show is staged for parents by each Key Stage. Easter is commemorated with a special service in the church during the Spring Term. Additionally, our Year 4 students take an overnight excursion to Bushey's Lincolnsfields Children's Center. Our school participates significantly in Standon's May Day events throughout the summer term. It selects the May Queen and offers the day's main event, Maypole Dancing. Additionally, Standon May Day serves as a significant source of revenue for our school through stalls and the event's signature Duck Race. During the last few weeks of the academic year, the annual sports day brings the entire school together. On the last day of classes, we hold a very special leavers' service at church to commemorate the end of the academic year and to wish the kids luck as they move on to the next phase of their lives.
