You automatically join the Parent Teacher Friend Association as a parent of a student at St. Andrew's (PTFA).
The PTFA organises social events for both parents and students, promotes tighter ties between home and school, and helps to support our wonderful school by raising funds.
We plan events for both parents and kids all year long.
Our PTFA raised 20,000 in the previous academic year, which is an unbelievable amount for a small school, and had a total profit of $13,000.
Visualisers will receive $1,300 this year out of the funds raised.
The school used 10,000 of our fund in 2016–2017 to build a trim trail in the lower playground.
The Farnham Charity Bike Ride, for which we will get 10,000, and the Spring and Christmas Faires, which together raised approximately 6,000 last year, are our three key fundraising events.
Our largest single fundraiser, it brought about 6,000 for the school in a single day in 2016!
The Farnham Charity Bike Ride was started in 2009 by St. Andrew's parents, and it has developed into a wonderful community event that draws riders from all over the area.
St. Andrew's parents participate in Farnham Round Table meetings to discuss and arrange the event's logistics, which include online registration, communication with the event's sponsors, route planning, and publicity.
St. Andrew's parents and teachers assist with marshalling the route, rider registration, and assistance at the refreshment stops on the day of the event.
Or you could participate!
Get on your bike, perhaps organise a cycling team with some friends, and raise money for St. Andrew's by becoming a sponsor.
We would love to hear from you if you would like to participate in the event in 2019 (Sunday, July 7).
The event's website, http://www.farnhambikeride.org.uk/, also keeps you informed of any changes. Please click here for more recent details on the Farnham Charity Bike Ride.
Additionally, the PTA lends a hand in creating the school's float for the Farnham Carnival.
The St Andrew's team have been very successful over the past few years and we are looking for parents to get involved in creating 2019's entry, the carnival will take place on Saturday 29th June 2019.
We would love to hear from you if you want to get in touch with the PTA or if you have any fantastic fundraising suggestions.
