From the Fountain Primary School
One of the mandatory foundational subjects of the National Curriculum is physical education.
At Fountain, we understand the critical role that physical education plays in a child's overall development—including their physical, cognitive, and social skills as well as their health and wellbeing.
We provide a top-notch PE curriculum that seeks to satisfy the needs of each and every one of our students.
As a school, we recently made an investment in real PE, a curriculum that we believe reflects our values and meets the needs of our students."
Real PE is a philosophy and method that supports ALL students in gaining the physical literacy, emotional stability, and critical-thinking abilities necessary for success in PE, sport, and life.
The improvement of the foundational abilities of agility, balance, and coordination is a key component of true physical education.
Real PE is completely aligned with the National Curriculum and Ofsted criteria and promotes a climate of sportsmanship, healthy competition, and cooperative learning.
We are also thrilled to be working with PE Partner again this year.
Our teachers conduct classes that establish and enhance each child's complete spectrum of physical literacy in collaboration with experienced coaches.
The foundational abilities of agility, balance, and coordination are the main focus of Key Stage 1, while the development of these abilities into cognitive, physical, and manipulative skills occurs in Key Stage 2.
These transferrable abilities are taught through a spiral curriculum.
Giving a child a complete toolkit for physical literacy is the goal of this." (PE spiral)
Every student from Reception to Year 6 receives instruction from PE Partner for one hour each week.
